Course Details
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training is designed to help you learn and develop the skill of self-compassion. MSC teaches core principles and practices which enable participants to respond to difficult experiences in their lives with kindness, care and understanding. Three key components of self-compassion are: self-kindness, a sense of common humanity, and balanced, mindful awareness. Together they comprise a state of warm-hearted, connected presence.
Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to face our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others and be more authentically ourselves.
Benefits of developing Mindful Self-Compassion include:
Increase in emotional wellbeing
Decrease in anxiety depression and stress
Handle difficult emotions with greater ease
Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism
Help to manage caregiver fatigue
Transform challenging relationships, old and new
Practice the art of savoring and self-appreciation

Since 2012 I have had the good fortune to be trained by the founders of MSC: Kristin Neff, Ph.D and Christopher Germer, Ph.D., alongside the team at University San Diego Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. I am qualified to teach Mindful-Self-Compassion Training and I have a Doctorate in Cultivating Mindful Self-compassion. I am delighted to offer courses and workshops in Essex, East Anglia and beyond.
To support past and present MSC students, MSC Practice Workshops will be held during the year on Mondays from 7 to 9pm. Cost is £20.
